Beau bids from Cork glory

Rathgar Beau will bid to make amends for missing last week’s Tingle Creek Chase when he lines up for the O’Connell Warehousing Hilly Way Chase at Cork on Sunday.

The nine-year-old was ruled out of a trip to Sandown just two days before the race after scoping badly, but trainer Dusty Sheehy reports him back in full health.

He said: “He just a had a little setback last week.

“It wasn’t much, but just enough to take him out of the Tingle Creek as we didn’t want to take a risk with him travelling over there.

“We’ve had him scoped since and everything is fine and his blood tests have been good too.”

Rathgar Beau topped a fantastic campaign when beating Moscow Flyer at Punchestown in April and he put up a satisfactory performance when second to War Of Attrition on his reappearance at Clonmel.

Sheehy added: “He might just have been a shade unlucky last time but that’s racing. He’s come out of it in great shape and has really improved for the run.

“This looks a nice little race. There’s a front-runner in there so we should be OK for pace and I would be happy enough.”

Dessie Hughes’ Central House beat Moscow Flyer last time and he will try to follow up, with Mariah Rollins and Alcapone completing a select four-runner line-up.
