Festival targets for Cyrlight
French chasing sensation Cyrlight is being prepared for a British and Irish campaign, starting some time in the new year.
The chestnut five-year-old, trained by Arnaud Chaille-Chaille, has never been beaten in 10 starts over fences and collected a number of valuable prizes in 2004.
He was kept over hurdles this year and has been given a rest during the summer but is returning to work and is expected to be seen at the major spring festivals.
Herve Barjot, racing manager to owner Sean Mulryan, told the Racing Post: “The horse is very well and he will be coming back into training by mid-November at the latest. He needed a good break and had three to four months off.
“Cyrlight’s races will be much more in Britain and Ireland this season and our idea is to aim long term at Punchestown and Cheltenham.
“They are both very important meetings and we want to have Cyrlight at his best for both.
“When he comes across he’ll be running over fences. We haven’t yet decided decided which races he’ll be aimed at, but if everything is OK he’ll be running early in the new year.”
