Anna Pavlova shrugged off a penalty for a recent Newcastle success to record a comfortable win in the opening race at Doncaster.

Her trainer, Richard Fahey, had considered running the juvenile in the Group Two May Hill Stakes later on the card, but he decided to take the nursery option instead in the Queen’s Own Yorkshire Dragoons Ladies Day Stakes and the move paid off.
