Rakti is back in work in preparation for a three-pronged autumn campaign across the globe before being retired to stud in Ireland.

The six-times Group One winner was given a short break after being beaten by Valixir in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot at York, but is now being trained for the final three races of a glorious career.

The six-year-old’s first port of call will be Newmarket on September 24 as he bids for back-to-back victories in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.

Then he will be off to Belmont Park in New York for the Breeders’ Cup Mile on October 29 before travelling on to the Far East for a third attempt at winning the Hong Kong Mile in December.

“He’s back in work and was only off for two or three weeks after York,” said trainer Michael Jarvis.

“He’ll have a racecourse gallop about two weeks before the QEII. There’s no point in getting him too fit too early. The QEII is not until the end of September.

“Then after that there’s the Breeders’ Cup Mile and the Hong Kong Mile. That’s the plan.”
