Eswarah possible for Yorkshire Oaks
Connections of Eswarah have virtually ruled out a crack at the Juddmonte International but the Vodafone Oaks winner could still make an appearance at York in two weeks’ time.
The Aston Upthorpe Yorkshire Oaks on August 17 remains an option for the filly, trained by Michael Jarvis, but a decision is unlikely for another week.
“I’ve not seen her since the King George but I believe she’s in good form,” said Angus Gold, racing manager to owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum.
“We have got options for her but I’ve not discussed them yet with Sheikh Hamdan. Obviously there’s the Yorkshire Oaks but I don’t think she’ll go for the International.
“We might go for the Yorkshire Oaks or decide to sit on her a bit longer. We won’t decide anything before next week.”
The daughter of Unfuwain won her first three races, culminating in a smooth victory in the fillies’ Classic at Epsom, before finishing eighth to Azamour in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes when tackling older horses for the first time.
