Tank on the march to York
Stuart Williams reports his prolific winner Sendintank to be on course for this month’s totesport Ebor as ante-post money poured in for the gelding today.
Coral cut the five-year-old to 10-1 from 14s for the mile and six furlong handicap at York, where he will be looking to build on his third to Lost Soldier Three over course and distance last time.
Sendintank had an incredible time of things last year, winning 10 times and rising nearly 40lb in the handicap but his trainer hopes there is still more to come.
“He will be going for the Ebor and he seems fit and well,” said Williams today.
“Arguably his third in a Listed race last time – arguably where he was unlucky-in-running – was the best run of his life. He always tries and I would be hopeful for the Ebor.
And of the sizeable gamble, he added: “Winning the Ebor would be a dream for a stable my size and I just hope he wins for that reason.
“I think some tipsters went for him on Saturday, which would explain the money for him rather than stable confidence.”
Williams has also entered Sendintank for November’s Emirates Melbourne Cup, although he admitted he was unlikely to travel Down Under at this stage.
