Divine Proportions, trained by Pascal Bary and ridden by Christophe Lemaire, won the Prix d'Astarte at Deauville today.

The daughter of Kingmambo, who was sent off a 2-9 favourite, never needed to be at her best but was still far too good for her rivals.

Lemaire was anchored towards the rear of the field in the early exchanges but after Yellow Purple, who is also trained by Bary, fell by the wayside, the outcome was never in doubt.

Once the gap appeared for Lemaire a furlong from home, Divine Proportions showed her unquestionable class to score with plenty in hand from Shapira (40-1) and Gorella (10-1).

Divine Proportions has now racked up five Group One victories among her nine successes.
