A group of Irish bookmakers will have their case against the British Horseracing Board heard on November 8.

Following a preliminary hearing at the Dublin Commercial Court today, a date was fixed for the main hearing, which centres around the Irish bookmakers who are suing the BHB for a refund of the payments they have made for data.

“Today’s hearing was simply for the exchange of documentation and the setting of a trial date, which was agreed for November 8,” said BHB communications manager Alan Delmonte.

“Until that date there is status quo – bookmakers in Ireland must continue to make payments direct to BHB in accordance with the contract. Nothing in today’s hearing changes that.”
