Trainer John Gosden today ruled the four-year-old out of the Group One showpiece at Newbury on Saturday week following his busy first half of the season.

“He’s been on the go since March. It’s very difficult to keep them on the go all season so he’s having a break now and will be back for an autumn campaign,” said Gosden.

The Manton trainer has several options for the colt, including races at San Siro and Baden-Baden.

The son of Sadler’s Wells notched up two Group Three victories at Newbury and Chester and a Listed success at Kempton before being put in his place by Gamut in the Princess Of Wales’s Stakes at Newmarket last week.
