Waters for Epsom if ground suitable
Aidan O’Brien will pay the £20,000 to supplement his 1000 Guineas winner Virginia Waters for the Vodafone Oaks if the ground is suitable at Epsom.
The Ballydoyle handler would like to see faster ground for the filly, who produced her best performance to date in quick conditions at Newmarket.
However she was a disappointing eighth in the Irish Oaks last weekend, and is not in the final 16 for the Oaks at this stage.
“The plan is that if everything is well then hopefully she’ll run,” said O’Brien.
“She’s in good form since her last run. It was very soft ground when she ran first time this season but we obviously saw an improvement when we got fast ground at Newmarket. If the ground is good or better we’ll be supplementing her.”
O’Brien described as “possibles” his two current Oaks entries – Silk And Scarlet and Mona Lisa.
“The other two would be possibles. Mona Lisa is a fast ground filly and Silk And Scarlet wants a nice bit of ground also but it is very possible they would all run if the ground was right,” he added.
