Curragh on the agenda for Bella

Michael Jarvis believes softer ground at the Curragh later this month would enable Vista Bella get closer to her 1000 Guineas conqueror Virginia Waters.

Vista Bella was beaten three lengths into third place by the Aidan O’Brien-trained winner in the UltimatePoker.com-sponsored Classic at Newmarket on Sunday, on what was only the third race of her career.

And she may get the chance to turn the tables in the €400,000 Boylesports Irish equivalent on May 22, although the daughter of Diktat will have to be supplemented at a cost of €40,000.

“There are not too many opportunities. She is in the Italian Guineas, which is only two weeks from our 1000. That is a little bit quick and the ground can get very firm in Rome, so it’s probably not an option,” Jarvis told At The Races.

“She would have to be supplemented for the Irish Guineas, but she is open to improvement and on softer ground she could give the winner a tougher race.

“I was impressed by the winner, but I think there is quite a bit more to come from Vista Bella.”
