Fallon in flying visit to Lingfield

Former champion jockey Kieren Fallon will be in action at Lingfield on Wednesday as he makes a flying visit home from America.

Fallon is currently based at Gulfstream Park as he enjoys a working holiday in Florida.

The six-times British champion has notched three winners from 11 rides at the track but he will be making a brief trip to Britain this week to visit his family in Newmarket.

Trainer Paul Howling has been quick to secure Fallon’s services and the pair will team up for two races at the Surrey track – Blue Knight in division one of the Bet Direct Live Football In Running Handicap and Tiger Hunter in the Bet Direct On Sky Active Claiming Stakes.

Howling explained: “I like to get him on our horses when I can as he is one of the best judges in the world. It’s nice to get him while he’s back from America as he’s been proving very popular out there.

“He’s coming back to see his family and my wife happened to be talking to his wife and she offered him a couple of rides which he accepted.

“I hope he rides or winner or two and I’m looking forward to it.”
