Kicking King confirmed himself one of the rising stars of the Irish jumping ranks when running out a smooth winner of the John Durkan Memorial Chase at Punchestown today.

Uneasy in the market before being sent off the 2-1 second favourite, the Tom Taaffe-trained gelding jumped superbly throughout and beat Rathgar Beau by 11 lengths.
