UK punter hopes to complete £2m scoop

The winner of the largest ever recorded win in a British betting shop will attempt today to boost his windfall to more than £2m (€2.8m).

Stuart Bolland, from Manchester, finally turned up yesterday to collect his record-breaking haul after nearly a week of keeping quiet over his jackpot success.

He picked six winning horses last Saturday as part of the totescoop6 bet, winning a dividend of £1,132,657 (€1,618,223).

Mr Bolland will be a guest of Betfred bookmakers at Uttoxeter, where he can nearly double his winnings by picking the winner of the bonus race – the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham.

Betfred – where Mr Bolland placed his original bet – said it will add to the scoop6 bonus of £754,452 (€1.077m) with an additional £113,000 (€161,000).

Mr Bolland said he was “very excited” but has asked for no further publicity until he speaks to the media today.

His win was not only the single biggest in scoop6 history, but also the largest recorded in a betting shop. He put his bet on at a Betfred shop in Greater Manchester.
