A real Bobby Dazzler at Perth

If antiques guru David Dickinson was a betting man, he would spot a Bobby Dazzler of a punting opportunity at Perth tomorrow afternoon.

A real Bobby Dazzler at Perth

If antiques guru David Dickinson was a betting man, he would spot a Bobby Dazzler of a punting opportunity at Perth tomorrow afternoon.

The gelding of that name makes the long journey from Nigel Twiston-Davies’ Gloucester yard to Scotland for the Albert Bartlett And Sons Novices’ Hurdle and looks a decent prospect.

Twiston-Davies clearly likes to send horses to the Scone Palace track, boasting six winners and a 50% strike rate last season, as well as landing this contest last year with the useful Champagne Harry.

Bobby Dazzler has plenty of decent form, having won at the course in April and quickly following up at Chepstow before being given a summer vacation.

The five-year-old also lost no caste when finishing second to the classy Eric’s Charm last winter and if he can reproduce his best form he will be a major worry for some largely unreliable rivals tomorrow.

The canny Twiston-Davies also takes to Perth one of his stable stars and a genuine contender for the top jumping prizes in Fundamentalist.

An ex-pointer, he only had the three starts last season but wound up winning the Royal & SunAlliance Hurdle at Cheltenham in a driving finish from Inglis Drever and has long been thought of as the type to go all the way over fences.

The six-year-old makes his chasing debut in the Albion Drilling Services Ltd Novices’ Chase, and, barring accidents, looks sure to make a winning start.

Ratukidul is bred to improve with distance and looks a stand-out bet in the Racing UK On Channel 432 Fillies’ Nursery at Pontefract.

The Michael Stoute-trained filly runs in the famous Niarchos Family colours and is a half-sister to French Derby hero Hernando

The daughter of Danehill made quite an impression on her debut over seven furlongs at Folkestone, falling out of the stalls and looking very green before coming fast and late to get up on the line.

She will have learnt plenty from that and the step up to a mile can only be to her advantage.

Masafi did Sir Mark Prescott proud earlier in the season, scoring seven times in 18 days during July, and having been given a break, he returns to the track in the Dalby Screw-Driver Handicap.

The three-year-old was probably suffering from those efforts when fifth at Brighton at the start of August, and with the Heath House maestro ready to launch his annual assault on the totesport Cambridgeshire next month, Masafi’s entry at Newmarket would indicate that he still has some improvement in him.

Moth Ball might prove the best option in the DJMT Magnotherapy Horse Rug Nursery at Brighton.

Michael Bell’s youngster was slowly away over the minimum trip at Musselburgh on his latest start before going down by a neck and a short head.

He was finishing well and should be much more at home returned to six furlongs, a trip over which he has finished out of the frame just once in four outings.
