Darryll Holland will spend a second day on the sidelines following his crashing fall at the weekend.

The title-chasing rider was forced to miss his rides at Southwell last night after suffering bruising when his mount Value Plus was brought down at Bath on Sunday.

He had hoped to be back in action at Brighton today but his agent Matt Chapman said: “Darryll has been told by his physio that he should have another day of rest.

“The bruising on his back is much better – but it needs another 24 hours to settle down so, as he’s banned tomorrow he will be back in action on Thursday at Epsom and Leicester.

“Then he will be at Newbury and Newmarket on Friday and Newbury and Haydock on Saturday.

“The accident on Sunday has been a massive blow – but things could have been a lot worse, and we’ll do our best to get our jockeys’ championship challenge back on track within 48 hours.”
