Oliver sidelined after heavy fall

Henry Oliver is facing two weeks on the sidelines after being injured in a heavy fall at Carlisle yesterday.

Oliver suffered concussion and a suspected broken collarbone when parting company with Why The Big Paws in the North West Racing Club Silver Jubilee "NH’ Novices" Hurdle.

“I don’t feel too bad this morning but have got to go and get my collarbone checked out,” said the jockey, who primarily rides for County Durham-based trainer Richard Guest.

“I thought yesterday that I may have broken it but hopefully it is just cracked as it hasn’t moved at all.

“I am concussed, though, so will be out for a minimum of six days.

“But the bone does not appear to be seriously damaged and I hope not to be out any longer than two weeks.”
