Jockey Tony Dobbin is recovering at home with no serious injury after a crashing fall from Petrula at Carlisle.

The Cumbrian-based rider was taken to hospital after parting company with the 3-1 favourite in the Milton Handicap Hurdle.

But X-rays at the Cumberland Infirmary revealed that Dobbin's neck had not been affected.

"Although he landed head first, his neck is fine. He was released from hospital and is back at home," said the jockey's agent, Richard Hale.

"He has been back to get this thumb checked and it is not too bad. It is not broken, the swelling has come down and the bruising isn't as bad as it yesterday, so he is doing all right.".

Dobbin, who had ridden 68 winners this year, is expected to be back in the saddle next week.
