Russell out for 21 days after Cork fall
Davy Russell will be out of action for 21 days after being knocked out in a fall at Cork on Sunday.
The rider, who is based with Ferdy Murphy at West Witton in North Yorkshire, had a crashing fall from Camden Tanner in the Fermoy Novice Chase at the track.
Russell was unconscious for five minutes and was stood down for the mandatory period.
“He’s out for three weeks, that’s all I know. I haven’t spoke to him but he texted me last night from Mallow Hospital to say he was out for 21 days,” Murphy said today.
“He was knocked out for five minutes. He had a check at the hospital and was going to have MRI scans last night and I’m sure he’ll let me know the results today.”
