Trouble At Bay continued trainer Alan King's rich vein of form when taking the opening race on Tripleprint Gold Cup day at Cheltenham.

The 9-2 second favourite was off the bridle some way from home, but rallied strongly under Robert Thornton to beat favourite Tamarinbleu comfortably in the end in the Tripleprint Juvenile Novices' Hurdle.

King's rising star won by seven lengths, with Pilgrims Progress a further 16 lengths back in third.

The three-year-old, who was completing a hat-trick, sat in fourth for most of the race before moving up to join Tamarinbleu, and they jumped the second-last together.

Thornton's mount put in a big jump at the final flight and ran on strongly up the hill.
