Frankie Dettori has five chances of getting the one winner he needs for a century at Lingfield Park tomorrow.
He moved onto the 99-mark for the year thanks to a near 6-1 double at the Surrey track today on Darting and Sentry.
But he had to work hard for both successes with Darting (13-8) scraping home by a short head in the Littlewoods Bet Direct AW Jockeys Championship Median Auction Maiden Stakes.
And Sentry (13-8) was just a head winner of the Littlewoods Bet Direct AW Trainers Championship Maiden Stakes.
The Italian is determined to reach the 100 for the first time since 1999 and for the ninth in all.
Dettori will ride in Rome at the weekend then take a short break in Dubai before setting his sights on the Japan Cup and Hong Kong’s international meeting.
