Jockeys set for phone meeting
Jockeys and their representatives will meet on Tuesday to assess the latest situation regarding the mobile phone dispute.
The meeting, which is to be held at a hotel in the Nottingham, UK area, is due to start at around 9.30am.
Tuesday's Flat racing is scheduled for Nottingham, with jumps cards at Exeter and Sedgefield.
John Blake, who has taken over from Michael Caulfield as chief executive of Britain's Jockeys Association, said: "I shall be chairing the meeting. It will be to assess the situation and give me an opportunity to listen at first hand to the boys from around the country.
"It could last a couple of hours or so. The boys have commitments around the country.
"I would be hopeful that I would have a conversation with the Jockey Club some time on Monday as well to see where we are up to there.
"I met with the senior steward (Julian Richmond-Watson) last Tuesday evening and he's promised to get in touch with me. Hopefully we'll have a conversation and we'll see where we go.
"The ambition is the same, as has been since I've been involved since August 19, which is to get a workable solution because that clearly is not there."
If the impasse continues the jockeys could take the matter to court.
