Weld hope heads Caufield weights
Dermot Weld’s Royal Ascot winner In Time’s Eye is the new top weight for the Carlton Draught Caulfield Cup after the second declaration stage for the AUS$2.5m (€1.4m) Group One feature on October 18, it was reported on the Racing Victoria website.
The Marcus Tregoning-trained Mubtaker, the original top weight, has been withdrawn along with the Godolphin trio Mamool, Millstreet and Beekeeper.
James Given’s Hugs Dancer, third in the Doncaster Cup last time out, remains in the running and will arrive with In Time’s Eye at Melbourne Airport on Tuesday for the required quarantine period.
