Three Valleys had his bubble well and truly burst at the Curragh today as One Cool Cat ran out an impressive winner of the Independent Waterford Wedgwood Phoenix Stakes.

The Roger Charlton-trained Three Valleys entered the Group One race with a huge reputation and travelled well enough for a long way as he raced prominently under Richard Hughes.

Aidan O’Brien’s One Cool Cat (11-8) was held up at the back of the field but quickened up in fine style when asked by Michael Kinane as Three Valleys dropped away.

The winner’s stable companion Old Deuteronomy was left to take second, beaten a length.
