Mamool was installed as favourite for the Ascot Gold Cup after Godolphin finally shrugged off the blues on the final day of York’s Dante meeting.

The Dubai-based outfit took their seasonal tally from one to three winners - Lateen Sails also scored – and pulled off a tactical masterstroke in the Emirates Airlines Yorkshire Cup.
