JP McManus's Youlneverwalkalone continues to make progress after being injured in the Martell Cognac Grand National.

The nine-year-old is still at Leahurst Veterinary College in Liverpool after being operated on for a fracture of his off-fore cannonbone but connections hope he may return home to Ireland “within two weeks”.

Frank Berry, racing manager to the owner, told the Racing Post: “The vets in Liverpool have told us he is making good progress.

“It’s far too early to speculate about a return to racing- that’s not even in our thoughts at this stage – but they’re doing a great job on him at Leahurst. He’s in the best of hands.

“We may be able to get him home within two weeks.”
