Carter's ban is reduced
Jockey Gary Carter has had a year-long ban imposed by the Malayan Racing Association cut to just two months at an appeal hearing.
The rider challenged the suspension which was handed to him after he was judged to have failed to obtain the best possible placing for his mount when partnering Bright Wonder in a sprint in August.
Carter, who quit Britain for a six-month contract in the Far East, was confident of winning his appeal and his agent in Britain, Shippy Ellis, confirmed that the sentence had been cut.
