Thursday's meeting at Carlisle has been abandoned due to waterlogging at the track.

Clerk of the course Jonny Fenwicke-Clennell also reported false patches of ground following over 4mm of rain overnight.

"That means we have had over nine inches of rain since January and people who have worked on this track for years admit they have never seen it so wet," he said.

Carlisle's next meeting is scheduled for Easter.

Fenwicke-Clennell added: "We are praying things improve as it's vital that meeting goes ahead."
