Racing: Sickness forces Dobbin out

Sickness forced Tony Dobbin gave up his only ride at Wetherby this afternoon but the north’s leading jump jockey is set to return at Sedgefield on Wednesday.

‘‘He was sick overnight so he didn’t feel up to riding today, but he’ll be back on Wednesday for Sedgefield,’’ said his agent Richard Hale today.

Dobbin, who is in joint fourth place in the jockeys’ championship with 76 winners, was replaced by Jimmy McCarthy on One More in the Panasonic Handicap Chase.
