Tell Us More stars in Gordon Elliott treble

Gordon Elliott completed a treble with Tell us More, De Plotting Shed and Brelade in Naas to round off a remarkable weekend, adding to his six winners at the two-day Down Royal festival and a double in Cork yesterday.

Tell Us More stars in Gordon Elliott treble

Tell Us More, second leg of a double for in-form Keith Donoghue, landed the Grade 3 Brady’s Family Ham Supporting Kildare GAA Poplar Square Chase at the expense of stable-companion The Game Changer (also owned by Gigginstown House Stud) and front-running favourite Alisier D’Irelande.

Tell Us More triumphed by four and a quarter lengths, prompting Elliott to comment: “That was grand. Keith’s on fire, riding great. This horse has had a few issues, but he obviously has a big engine. It worked out great and he could go for something like the Fortria in Navan (next Sunday).”

The progressive De Plotting Shed made all under talented 7lb. claimer Cian Collins to beat three rivals, including Triumph Hurdle winner Ivanovich Gorbatov (a well beaten third) in the Priory Walls Of Kilcullen Hurdle, staying on strongly up the hill to beat Jett by eight lengths.

“He’s a grand, improving horse,” declared Elliott. “He’ll stay over hurdles this season and will run in those conditions races between two and a half and three miles.”

Elliott recorded his eleventh win in three days when 1/2 favourite Brelade made all under Jamie Codd to win the bumper, holding the promising Mind’s Eye by a neck.

“It’s been a great day,” stated a delighted Elliott. “He’s a nice horse and will go hurdling straight away. It wasn’t the plan to make the running, but Jamie felt there would be no pace. It didn’t really suit our horse, because all he does is stay. But Jamie was good on him and won without giving him a hard race – he had a hard enough race in Galway the last day.”

Andy Lynch provided Keith Donoghue with the first leg of his double as the once-raced Ben Dundee, in the colours of Chris Jones, won the opening Tegral Supporting Kildare GAA 4-Y-0 Maiden Hurdle in convincing style, scoring comfortably by seven lengths from Act In Time.

Lynch stated: “He’s a good horse and will improve a bit, although I don’t know where he’ll go next. I was a little afraid of the good ground, because he wants it soft.”

Fresh from his superb graded-race double with Valseur Lido and Sub Lieutenant in Down Royal on Saturday, Henry de Bromhead provided Gigginstown with further success when Attribution, ridden by Barry Geraghty, justified even-money favouritism in the Ballymore Pipers Hill Supporting Kildare GAA Beginners Chase, beating Minella Scamp by a length and a quarter.
