Dancing to make Waves in maiden

Two tricky cards this evening, but there was enough promise in the debut effort of Dancing Waves to suggest she can land the nap in the seven-furlong auction maiden at Down Royal.

The daughter of Zoffany missed the kick in a Roscommon maiden won by the highly regarded Branch Line, but made an impressive move around the outside to mount a challenge in the straight.

She was unable to maintain the impetus but that was hardly surprising given the effort of the move and the fact her trainer, Ger Lyons, likes to leave plenty to work on with his debutants.
