Coillte Lass gets Michael Twomey off the mark at Dromahane

Yesterday’s well-attended Doneraile Harriers point-to-point meeting at Dromahane is one that will live long in the memory of Aghabullogue point-to-point committee member Michael Twomey for he was credited with his first success as an owner when Coillte Lass showed a blistering turn of foot from the final fence to win the five and six-year-old mares’ maiden.
Coillte Lass gets Michael Twomey off the mark at Dromahane

The five-year-old Coillte Lass (2/1), having finished an excellent start on her previous start at Liscarroll last month, must have had all of four lengths to make up approaching the final fence as the wells-supported favourite At Rainbow’s End still held the call.

Coillte Lass however responded generously for the in-form Ciaran Fennessy and she stormed to the front on the inner some 50 yards out to eclipse At Rainbow’s End by a half-length.
