Chance To Dance awarded contest

Out of luck with Lucida in Newmarket earlier, Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning captured the listed Carlingford Stakes, in the Stewards Room, in wet and windy Dundalk last night when Chance To Dance was awarded the race on the disqualification of Obliterator.

Chance To Dance awarded contest

The Colin Keane-ridden Obliterator, running for the first time since being gelded, got the better of favourite Prince Of All early in the straight but drifted right, under pressure, inside the final furlong, hampering Chance To Dance, the mount of Kevin Manning, which stayed on dourly, failing by a head to catch Obliterator.

In the enquiry, the Stewards were satisfied that the interference had cost Chance To Dance the spoils and, on that basis, reversed the placings.
