Curragh target for Tamadhor
The Kevin Prendergast-trained filly looked impressive in a seven-furlong maiden at Leopardstown on Saturday when she accounted for Stellar Glow by half a length.
Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum’s youngster is now in contention for the Group Three CL Weld Park Stakes on September 28.
Prendergast said: “She ran really well and is a very nice filly.
“We were very happy with her because she had a bad draw but still quickened up really well.
“The idea now is to think about the Curragh race and then see where we are.
“I’m quite keen to see her run again this autumn.”
Prendergast has ruled out any notion of Beach Belle travelling to Newmarket next month to compete in the Dubai Fillies’ Mile.
The Co Kildare handler has yet to be convinced about the filly’s levels of stamina after she finished well down the field in the Moyglare Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.
Beach Belle is now likely to be pitched into a weaker race instead of running in the Newmarket Group One on October 17.
Prendergast said: “We were disappointed with her and, looking at the weekend, you’d say she didn’t get seven (furlongs).
“They didn’t go a good pace, either, but I think she’ll be back. She’s too good a filly not to come back.
“I don’t think that (Fillies’ Mile) is an option now.
“We’ll lower her sights a bit and try to get her back on a winning track.”
Extortionist looks to have run his last race of the season after finishing down the field in the Derrinstown Stud Flying Five at the Curragh on Sunday.
Olly Stevens’ sprinter has enjoyed a profitable summer, during a season when three-year-olds traditionally struggle.
Despite winning the Coral Charge at Sandown his best efforts came in defeat as he was narrowly beaten in the King George at Gooodwood by Take Cover and was only beaten half a length adrift of Sole Power when third in the Nunthorpe.
His last two runs have been below-par, though, and Stevens feels he will be one of the best around next season.
