Meade ponders Kerry National plans

Noel Meade is set to make plans for the Kerry National nearer to the big Listowel event.

Meade ponders Kerry National plans

The Co Meath trainer said: “I have six entered in the Kerry National, including Muirhead, Protaras and Cross Appeal.

“There are only 36 entries in total so we’ll make up our mind a bit closer to the time.”

Meade is still without injured stable jockey Paul Carberry, as well as Davy Condon, and enjoyed a winner with Denis O’Regan at Kilbeggan on Friday night.

Meade said: “Paul is going to be out for another while and, with Davy (Condon) also out, I’d hope Denis will spend more time in Ireland and ride more for us.

“Paul is hoping to be back for Listowel, but his collar bone is just taking a while to heal.”

O’Regan said: “I still plan to be based in England, but hopefully can come over and back a bit.”
