Van Eyck can give new connections an immediate return

The Galway extravaganza kicks away on Monday and it is a real case of the calm before the storm, with Wexford this afternoon the only meeting in Ireland for the weekend.

The nap vote falls on Jan Van Eyck, who has changed stables since he last ran, in the Sile Seoige Judges Littlewoods Ireland Ladies’ Day Rated Race.

He used to be trained by Ken Condon, who ran the horse in a ten furlongs claimer at Navan last time. The selection won by seven lengths and was duly claimed for €15,000 by Gerard O’Leary.
