Dare To Doubt bounces back to form for Ruby

A treble in Cork last night brought Willie Mullins’ tally to eight winners in five days as Dare To Doubt initiated a double for former champion Ruby Walsh in the opening Dermot Casey Tree Care Hurdle before the trainer’s son Patrick partnered favourites Digeanta and Tasitiocht to victory in the two bumpers.

Bouncing back from a very disappointing effort, on the flat, in Leopardstown last week, the eight-year-old mare challenged on the inside of front-running Whodoyouthink (whose rider Mick Darcy was banned for three days for improper riding) after the third last, where the winner’s market rival Alpine Eagle had crashed.

Soon in front and in control, Dare To Doubt drew clear to triumph by nine lengths. Ruby commented: “She did what she was entitled to do, and her main danger fell. For a change, everything went to plan.”
