Charlie’s Vic can follow up
The former point-to-point and bumper winner finished second to Lucinda Russell’s hot-pot, Lucia Bay, at Newcastle before returning home to get off the mark over jumps in emphatic fashion at Fairyhouse two weeks ago.
She swept up to challenge approaching the home turn and was soon in total control to score by 21 lengths.
Derek Fox was in the plate then and renews the partnership.
Fox also has prospects aboard Seriatim in the Martinstown Opportunity Maiden Hurdle.
Another who has scored between the flags, he ran his best race on the track to date at Down Royal last month.
The selection was holding every chance heading to the second last, but blundered badly and was beaten into third spot behind Station Lane and Beef To The Heels.
This represents a minor drop in class and Seriatim has to at least go close.
Gordon Elliott’s Spring Lane looks best in the Bumper. He seems to be best suited to a decent surface and, hopefully, will get that now.
Spring Lane’s latest outing saw him go under by a neck to the Mark Rimell-trained 7-4 favourite, Bhakti, at Catterick.
Elliott’s Oscar Hill, a close third behind Owennacurra Milan and Benalma at Thurles six days ago, might provide the answer to the Roadhouse Pub Novice Handicap Hurdle.
Joanna Morgan’s Sky Pilot, absent since taking third to the smart Ipsos De Berlais and Inside Shadow at Down Royal in early November, can land the Bet With The Bookies Maiden Hurdle.
