Rebel can continue to advance

MICHAEL WINTERS’ Rebel Fitz can continue his climb up the ladder by landing the Easyfix Rubber Products Novice hurdle at Galway this afternoon.

Rebel can continue to advance

The dual bumper winner — one of them came on this track — got off the mark over flights at the second attempt at Cork earlier in the month and, hopefully, can now build on that.

He jumped and travelled really well through that contest to beat Park Ranger by a comfortable two lengths.

The bare form is ordinary, but the selection has plenty of scope for improvement and an extra two furlongs and stiff uphill finish look made for him.

The Parkmore Maiden Hurdle can fall to Willie Mullins’ Laganbank, a race which has more to do with quantity rather than quality.

Laganbank was grabbed late over flights by Sublime Talent at Ballinrobe, but then made no mistake in a bumper at Killarney next time.

It could be a good day for Mullins, who also has live possibilities in Scotsirish and Robin Angevin.

Scotsirish ran two cracking races at the Galway festival, including taking fifth to Blazing Tempo in the Plate, and the conditions of the Colm Quinn BMW Chase are stacked in his favour.

Robin Angevin went under by a neck to Moscow Mannon at the Galway festival and has to be fancied to do the business in the Jamie Kyne Memorial Bumper.

The Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh tomorrow promises a fascinating tussle between Maybe and La Collina.

They were both hugely impressive last time. Maybe ran away with the Group 2 Debutante Stakes at the Curragh, while the same day La Collina shocked Power in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes.

The handicapper says La Collina is one pound superior to Maybe, but the latter is preferred from this quarter.

Jessica Harrington’s Bible Belt is the one to beat in the Dance Design Stakes. She appears to be rapidly on the upgrade, graduating from handicap company to land a Listed event at Gowran Park by five lengths.

The nap vote goes to Joe Muphy’s Northgate in the Social Harmony EBF Irish Cambridgeshire.

He was beaten a head by Jackaroo at Dundalk and, because his rating on turf is lower than the all-weather, runs here off a mark 5lbs lower.

At Galway tomorrow John Kiely is fancied for a double with in-form Oneeightofamile (Ballybane Hurdle) and Saint Gervais (Bumper).
