Course specialist Salesin, trained for J P McManus by Niall ‘Boots’ Madden and ridden by his son ‘Slippers’, made all to win the Audrey McGrath Memorial Chase, his fourth success on the track.

“He’ll get an entry in the Galway Plate, although I’m not sure he’s a real Plate horse,” said the winning trainer.

Also Galway-bound, for the ‘Blazers’, according to trainer Jimmy Coogan, is Mr. Bones which, ridden by Barry Cash, registered his seventh career win in the jogforjockeys.ie Handicap Chase, proving too strong for Good Decision.

The Mick Halford-trained Moncherie, in the Invincible Ash colours of Roscommon man P J Condron, made a successful hurdling debut in a division of the mares’ maiden, making all to slam Ennisnag. Winning rider Robert Power said: “That was an impressive debut over hurdles. She has done plenty of schooling and knew her job.”
