Spencer basks in Fame glory

JAMIE Spencer hopes Fame And Glory (below) can become a permanent fixture in the Gold Cup following his outstanding success at Royal Ascot.

Having spoken of his relief at partnering the talented five-year-old to victory in Thursday’s showpiece, the former champion jockey is already sizing up a possible return next year.

Spencer is back in partnership with his former boss Aidan O’Brien due to the link-up between Jim and Fitri Hay, his retained owners, and Coolmore, and is now the regular jockey for Fame And Glory.
