Go with Won In The Dark
He has been running over much longer trips of late, but is a horse not short of speed and two miles, against this opposition, won’t overly inconvenience him.
At Aintree in early April, Won In The Dark tackled the best stayers in the business when finishing a creditable third behind Big Buck’s and Grands Crus.
Then at the Punchestown festival, the selection contested the Grade 1 World Series Hurdle over three miles.
He again performed really well to finish about nine lengths sixth to Quevega and Mourad.
Won In The Dark is, arguably, in the form of his life right now and can enjoy a first success since scoring at Leopardstown in February of last year.
Davy Russell partners Harty’s charge and also has prospects aboard the dual bumper winner, Dazzling Susie, in the jogforjockeys.ie Mares’ Maiden Hurdle.
Dazzling Susie won ordinary races at Thurles and Punchestown, before returning to this track last month for the Grade 1 Champion Bumper. She went off a 25-1 chance, but produced a career-best effort to take fourth behind Lovethehigherlaw.
Jessica Harrington’s Seader is a hopeful choice in the Harbour View Construction Maiden Hurdle for colts and geldings.
He used to be trained on the flat by Michael Halford and in Britain by Tim Vaughan, prior to having a first outing for Harrington at Punchestown a week ago.
Seader was beaten two and a half lengths into second by his stable companion, the 5-4 favourite Bullock Harbour, and might have done even better, but for getting it wrong at the last flight.
Only six are set to face the starter in the www.motivatechallenge.com Chase, but it’s a puzzle, with none of them to be trusted.
The nod falls on Aran Concerto, a light of other days certainly, but who had both Schelm and Archie Boy behind when seven lengths runner-up behind Psycho at Killarney.
