Townend back in action after injury

PAUL Townend, currently leading the race to be crowned champion National Hunt jockey, returns to action from injury tonight.

Townend, who admirably replaced Ruby Walsh on a number of Willie Mullins’ stable-stars throughout the season, will be in action at Ballinrobe, where he has three rides.

The jockey fractured his collarbone at Navan on March 26 and is five winners ahead of Davy Russell as he attempts to claim his first title.
