Henro Boy should relish longer trip

HENRO BOY should relish the two and a half miles of the Madigans Bars Maiden Hurdle at Punchestown this afternoon and gets the nap.

Successsful in a bumper at Downpatrick, Michael O’Hare’s charge has since produced two decent efforts over flights.

He was a close third in a two and a quarter miler at Galway to Dark Prospect before running creditably, over an inadequate two miles, when third to Lancetto and Oneeightofamile at Naas.

Willie Mullins’ Maggie Connolly, third behind the smart Araucaria at Navan, rates the biggest danger.

Noel Meade has his inmates in fine shape right now and Perfect Smile can prove another for him in the Dobbins Catering At Punchestown Maiden Hurdle.

He has been frustrating and costly to follow, but remains a horse of promise and this is a weak race.

The Go Racing In Kildare Hurdle has only attracted four runners, but is still a fascinating little contest.

It will be a surprise if Ireland’s Call can win, but the other three all have a life, with Aitmatov greatly favoured by the weights.

He made a promising return when a length and a quarter second over this trip to Donnas Palm at Tipperary, but two miles is, nevertheless, well short of what’s required.

The nod falls on the progressive Leblon, even if she is 13lbs wrong with Aitmatov. John O’Shea has done a terrific job with her and she was again seen to advantage when failing by half a length to concede Sword Fish 13lbs in a Listowel handicap.

Far Away So Close, who seemed to very much enjoy making the running when easily beating Apt Manor at Tipperary, could be the answer to the Tote Sports Lounge Novice Hurdle.
