Dark Prospect can keep Meade’s momentum going
Formerly in the care of Michael Jarvis in England, the selection has shown steady improvement in three outings in this country. His latest performance was easily his best. At Galway last month, Dark Prospect went off a heavily-backed favourite and duly obliged.
Confidently handled by Paul Carberry, the winner powered ahead after the final flight to beat Riverstown by half a length.
There is nothing particularly special about the form, but it still entitles Dark Prospect to the nap in this league.
Tommy Stack’s progressive Nucals Star is the choice in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Maiden.
The Danehill Dancer colt finished a close fourth behind Rising Wind at Listowel and a repeat of that will certainly see him at least go close.
The Kilbegnet EBF Novice Chase is a tricky seven-runner affair, with the nod falling on Sorceror.
This will be his first outing of the campaign, but the likelihood is Arthur Moore will have him reasonably straight for what is a nice prize.
Sorceror produced some decent efforts in the winter, especially his three parts of a length second to Shakervilz at Leopardstown in January.
