Rely on Reel
Once-raced Scottish Reel is the nap choice in the last contest of the evening, the Clonard Maiden.
Bred to be a champion, by Sadler’s Wells out of Necklace, he’s clearly no star, but almost certainly more than capable of taking a modest event such as this.
The selection made his debut over a mile and five at Navan last month and was quietly supported in the market against hot-pot, Kaladena. Scottish Reel challenged Kaladena for much of the straight, but had little left in the end and was beaten seven lengths into second.
He drops marginally in trip now, will know a lot more of what’s required and should take all of the beating.
Together can land the opening Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Maiden. Well touted first time out at Naas, she was the medium of some decent wagers and went off favourite.
The daugher of Galileo, however, took far too long to warm up, eventually finishing four and a half lengths third behind Radharcnafarraiage.
Together is bound to come on a bundle for the experience and the form received a major boost when Radharcnafarriage easily won a Group 3 at Naas on Monday.
Master Of Hounds, who made a promising start when fifth to Dermot Weld’s Moonlit Garden at the Curragh, gets the nod in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Maiden for colts and geldings.
Three English runners liven up the featured Group 3 Ballyogan Stakes and one of them, Beyond Desire, successful in Listed company at Haydock, is the hopeful choice.
Recharge, who has spent the early part of the campaign chasing top class horses in Famous Name and Fame And Glory, twice, is fancied to relish the drop in class afforded him in the Bulmers’ Live Glencairn Stakes.
