Adajalcan pass stiff test for four-timer

CAN Adajal defy the handicapper one more time and complete a four-timer at Cork tonight?

Charlie Swan has done a tremendous job with the progressive seven-year-old and there is more than a possibility he will do just that and land the Cork Handicap Chase.

This is far and away Adajal’s stiffest test to date, he is 28lbs higher than when the winning streak began, and these are the most talented horses he has encountered so far.

But Adajal again coasted to victory at Roscommon 11 days ago and is the hopeful choice to produce easily a career-best performance.

Mighty John McGee gets the vote in the three mile Mallow Town BBQ Race Evening Hurdle. Martina Doran’s gelding was returning from a long absence when third to Dreadnot at Kilbeggan and this is not the most exacting of tests.

Dessie Hughes’ Montero, a creditable second behind Oneeightofamile on the flat at Clonmel, should go close in the Newmarket Handicap Hurdle.

Down Royal houses the nap choice in the shape of another Hughes inmate, Saponara, in the Barclay Telecom Landline Services Hurdle.

The daughter of Key Of Luck gave the impression she was rapidly on the upgrade when slamming Time Machine (gave 12lbs) by ten lengths at Kilbeggan last time.

John Oxx’s Dawn To Dance is fancied to defy an unfavourable draw in four in the Barclay Communications Web Design Maiden.

The once-raced daughter of Selkirk seemed to take a while to get the hang of what was required when beaten a length and a half by Alsalwa at Naas and will know more now.
