Good opportunity for Last Draw
The nap vote falls on Charlie Swan’s Last Draw in the Broomhill Point Bumper. He has run well in all three outings so far and this is a good opportunity.
The son of Accordion was a creditable third behind Lead The Parade, subsequently sixth to Dunguib at Cheltenham, and The Biscuit Club at Navan in February and wasn’t seen again until Punchestown a week ago.
The selection again performed with promise, finishing three lengths runner-up behind shock winner, Lastoftheleaders.
Last Draw may improve plenty for that and it was encouraging the third was beaten a further six lengths.
Aidan O’Brien’s Aristocrat is likely to go off at cramped odds in the Ingard Point Maiden, but is hard enough to oppose. He was the medium of a major morning-price gamble, on his seasonal debut, at the Curragh last month and went off at 4-7.
Aristocrat, however, never promised to deliver, finishing a disappointing fifth behind Fergus McIver.
The son of Galileo has his sights considerably lowered now and, with a rating of 104, would be entitled to win at far more high-profile tracks than this one.
At Downpatrick, Noel Neade’s Failte Go Deo may oblige in the Heart Of Down Maiden Hurdle for amateur riders.
The six-year-old is not to be entirely trusted, but his second to Social Society at Gowran Park, fifth placed Jim The Falcon has won in the meantime, suggests he should go close.
