Longer trip to suit Cailin Alainn

CAILIN Alainn is fancied to prove she is far from a back-number by landing the Grade 2 MacLochalainn Road Markings Ltd Kinloch Brae Chase at Thurles this afternoon.

Charles Byrnes’ mare has been lightly raced of late, but showed enough at Cork in December to entitle her to go close now, in what is a tricky contest.

Admittedly, she was beaten 16 lengths into second by Scotsirish then, but that was only her second outing of the campaign and the two miles trip was totally inadequate.
