Blockley ponders appeal
The Lambourn trainer and jockey Dean McKeown, who was hit with a four-year ban, were punished on Thursday following the latest investigation into alleged corruption.
The pair, along with seven others, were charged in connection with the laying of horses to lose in 11 races that took place between March 2004 and December 2005.
Blockley has yet to decide whether he will contest the decision and has seven days on receipt of the panel’s reasons for the punishments to appeal.
“I don’t know what my next move will be. I haven’t got that far yet,” he said.
“I’m still waiting for it to sink in. I couldn’t believe it, it’s a joke.
“I need to sit down and talk to the missus, discuss what’s what and make a decision from there.”
